Consumers in Australia offered refund over iPad 4G

In amidst of Apple fever in Australia, people were lined up outside the American Tech giant stores in Sydney and Melbourne only to find out later that iPad that they have bought doesn’t support 4G services.

Many Aussies have requested a refund from Apple due to the same reasons.

However, Apple defended itself by saying the iPad (3rd generation) faces trouble on providing 4G LTE services due to its use of 700 MHz frequency versus 800 MHz used in Australia.

But the Australian government took Apple to the court on the grounds of the company’s promotion as a Wi-Fi 4G Tablet and the government says that it misled their people.

The matter was quickly resolved after they agreed to fully refund the customers who bought Wi-Fi + Cellular model of iPad.
